Chinese Herbal Shao Yao Muscle Tea

$10.00

Our blend of this Chinese herbal tea is based on an old traditional formula: Peony and Licorice tea (芍藥甘草湯 - Sháo Yào Gān Cǎo Tāng) combines White Peony (白芍 - Bái Sháo) and honeyed licorice (炙甘草 - Zhì Gān Cǎo) to help manage tight, sore, and cramped muscles. It has a relaxing effect on the body's muscles, which is used to help ease tension from a long day of work.

Our blend contains a few extra herbs on top of the original formula. We've also included Red Peony root (赤芍 - Chì Sháo), which works together and strengthens the effect of White Peony. Kudzu root (葛根 - Gé Gēn) can help with tension on the back and neck. Lastly, Osmanthus flower (桂花 - Guì Huā) adds a strong, fruity flavor that also helps to ease tension.

We use herbs that are free of chemical additives, such as sulfites, chlorine, and aluminum phosphate. They are also tested for pesticide residues, heavy metal, and microbes. We believe the real food from earth has the most healing power. No sugar or artificial coloring added to our product. It is also caffeine-free naturally.

The loose herbal tea is packaged in 7 disposable and biodegradable tea bags, inside a food grade foiled resealable bag. The total weight of the herb tea is about 75 g or 2.64 oz. Just add a tea and hot water to a mug and steep for a few minutes. Each tea bag is also good for 3 to 4 hot water refills. Alternatively, you can cook on the stove top for a stronger flavor.

Chinese herbal tea has been used for thousands of years safely in Asia. We select only gentle herbs with a small dosage. As with most herbs, do not take while pregnant. White Peony and Red Peony root may interact and strengthen diabetic, anticoagulant, and sedative medications. Licorice should not be used if you're currently taking anticoagulant or Digoxin (Lanoxin). It may also interact with medications that affect hormone and potassium levels, high blood pressure in large dosages, and it can also affect the Liver metabolism of certain drugs, so speak with your physician if you have any questions.
